This is an exciting week to be a Democrat! By Saturday we should know the identity of Senator Obama's running mate and the guessing game will be over. Also by Saturday, we will have 75 days left until election day, (known to many as the day the phone stops ringing). Needless to say, we still have a lot of work to do with increasingly little time. We will be canvassing for 8 more weekends before we shift gears into Get-Out-The-Vote. That means 16 days, or 32 volunteer hours to identify 7500 voters across Hanover County. Putting that into perspective, a simple 2 hours of your weekend to knock on a few doors will go a long way. We will be canvassing in Ashland this weekend, starting out of Ashland Coffee & Tea: Saturday, August 23, 2008 we will meet at 9:30 AM Sunday, August 24, 2008 we will meet at 1:30 PM Ashland Coffee & Tea is located at 100 N Railroad Ave, in Ashland. Please pass this along to any interested parties I may have failed to reach. If we haven't already confirmed by the end of Friday, please shoot me an e-mail letting me which one you can make it to. Also, if you can, here's a wish list of things we need to help improve our office and our canvasses: 1. Clipboards 2. Bottled Water 3. Granola bars/ other snacks 4. Pens/ Pencils 5. A friend who wants to volunteer. I hope to see you this weekend-- if you have any questions about the weekend or other happenings, feel free to call or e-mail me.
