Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 7:15pm, Terry McAliffe will be visiting Hanover County for a town hall discussion on healthcare. This event will take place at the Campaign for Change office on 10474 Cobbs Road, Glen Allen, VA 23059
More than 1.1 million Virginians lack heath insurance, and under President George Bush, nothing has been done to lower that number or attack the cost of health care for middle class families.
Terry McAuliffe, the former chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, will hold a series of town hall events across Virginia to talk about U.S. Sen. Barack Obama’s plan to provide affordable health care to every American and bring down its cost for the typical family by up to $2,500.
Obama’s plan stands in sharp contrast to the radical scheme proposed by John McCain, which would create a tax on Americans’ health care benefits for the first time in the country’s history. McAuliffe was the chairman of the Democratic National committee from 2001-2005. He started a driveway maintenance company as a teen-ager, which kicked off a lifelong career as a small businessman and entrepreneur. As an executive, McAuliffe has managed hundreds of employees and seen first-hand the issues families deal with around their kitchen tables. He and his wife Dorothy have five children. They live in McLean. |
